Gyaneshwarpuri is a natural landscape ecologist and ecological indicator of an intact harmonious environment in the Moravian Karst.
Swami Gyaneshwarpuri, by his own initiative as a hermit, is also an intimate expert on the forest, lives by forest wisdom and is a landscape ecologist as well, obviously without having properly studied this important science at university. Everything he knows about nature he knows from his own inner experiences in it, from his long stays in the mountains and forests and therefore he knows everything about nature with 100% certainty from his own experience, not conveyed by someone else. These inner experiences led him to sharp clashes of opinion with the professional foresters of the Křtiny Forest School, whom he accuses of a misguided forestry philosophy, excessive logging of trees for money for their own pockets in the present climate change and also senseless hunting and killing of game, of which, according to the hermit, could otherwise live in the wild at least 10 times more than at present, and which are needlessly killed for meat for restaurants, fur and for the dubious negative experience of hunting. Therefore, as a yogi in the spirit philosophy of ahimsa – that is, not harming any living being, not only human beings, but also all animals, including, of course, stags, doe, deer and other animals – he consistently upholds to this. This brought him into a sharp philosophical conflict with foresters, who tried to drive him out, as a result of which he became unwanted on the grounds of the Křtiny Forest School in the vicinity of Habrůvka and Křtiny, which he eventually left voluntarily and went to other areas of interest in another part of the Moravian Karst. Paradoxically, Gyaneshwarpuri gets along quite well with ecologists and nature guardians from the Administration of the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, whom he respects and whose instructions he always follows. It was they who recommended him to leave the territory managed by the Křtiny Forest School and go to the Údolí Říčky nature reserve in the southern part of the Karst, where there are no such problems among the people.
